Neues Projekt

Established   in   2001,   BCMF   Arquitetos   (partners   Bruno   Campos,   Marcelo   Fontes   e   Silvio   Todeschi)   has   been    involved   in   a   broad   range   of   projects   marked   by   exceptional   quality.   From   concept   design   through   construction    documents   we   strive   to   maintain   rigorous   control   of   the   design   process   trough   comprehensive   detailing,   complete    integration   with   engineering   work,   and   coordination   of   all   disciplines   to   minimize   conflicts.        In   our   practice   we   seek   to   be   highly   diversified   in   terms   of   scale   and   typology,   ranging   from   interior   design   (retail    spaces   and   furniture),   residential   and   commercial   buildings   (including   single-­‐family   houses)   to   large-­‐scale   projects    (arenas,   sports   facilities,   convention   center,   shopping   centers,   hospitals,   industries,   parks,   and   urban   schemes).      Among   the   main   projects   of   the   practice,   the   Deodoro   Sports   Complex   (National   Shooting   Center,   Equestrian    Center,   Field   Hockey   and   Modern   Pentathlon)_   designed   for   the   Rio   2007   Pan   American   Games   _   was   nominated    for   “Best   work   of   young   author”   at   the   VI   Ibero   American   Biennial   of   Architecture   and   Urbanism   (Lisbon),   has   won    the   Golden   Medal   at   the   1st   IAKS   LAC   Award   (International   Association   for   Sports   and   Leisure   Facilities   /   Section    Latin   America   and   Caribbean)   in   2010   and   the   "Special   Prize"   in   the   IOC   /   IAKS   2011   Award   in   Cologne,   Germany.      In   2008/2009   BCMF   Arquitetos   was   commissioned   by   the   Brazilian   Organizing   Committee   (COB)   to   develop   the    architecture   and   landscape   concept   studies   of   most   of   the   venues   and   facilities   for   the   Rio   2016   Candidature   ,    mainly   in   the   clusters   of   Barra   da   Tijuca   and   Deodoro.   In   2010   BCMF   was   commissioned   by   the   “Minas   Arena”    Consortium   to   be   responsible   for   the   renovation   of   the   Mineirão   Stadium,   in   Belo   Horizonte   (MG),   one   of   the    selected   venues   for   the   2014   FIFA   World   CUP,   becoming   the   first   brazillian   architectural   practice   to   participate   in    the   three   major   mega-­‐events   that   promisse   to   transform   the   country:   Pan   2007,   2014   World   Cup   and   Rio   2016.      

About   the   architects      

Bruno   Campos   (1970)   is   an   Architect   graduated   at   the   Universidade   Federal   de   Minas   Gerais,   UFMG   (Belo    Horizonte,   1989/1994),   with   M.A   in   Housing   and   Urbanism   at   the   Architectural   Association   School   (London,    1997/1998).   He   has    collaborated   with   various   architects   in   Brazil   and   abroad   (including    Weiss/   Manfredi    Architects,   New   York)   before   establishing   his   own    practice   associated   to    Marcelo   Fontes   (1971)   and   Silvio    Todeschi   (1969),   also   graduated   at   UFMG,   in   2001   (BCMF   Arquitetos).   Since   then,   BCMF   has   been   designing   a   vast    array   of   projects,   varying   both   in   typology   and   scale,   specially   large-­‐scale   public   projects.        The   Brazilian   magazine   “AU”   (Arquitetura   e   Urbanismo)   celebrates   25   years,   and   in   its   special   edition   included    BCMF   profile   among   the   25   young   architects   who,   in   2035,   should   have   an   outstanding   body   of   work   representing    Brazilian   contemporary   architecture.   The   British   magazine   “Wallpaper”   has   also   featured   BCMF   in   the   edition    “Born   in   Brazil”   among   its   most   promising   practices.   Also   in   recent   issues   of   the   “RIBA   Journal”,   the   articles    “Personal   Best”   and   “Brazil   Boom:   Land   of   Opportunity”   praised   the   practice’s   work   in   the   mega-­‐events   of   Rio    2007,   Rio   2016   Bid   and   FIFA   2014   World   Cup.   In   2012,   the   prestigious   spanish   magazine   “ARQUITECTURA   VIVA    displayed   the   National   Shooting   Center   (designed   by   BCMF   for   the   2007   Pan-­‐American   Games   and   ready   for   the    Rio   2016   Olympics)   on   the   cover   of   an   issue   dedicated   to   Contemporary   Brazilian   Architecture.
