The client brief was to generate a functional office on the lower ground floor and then open up and connect the existing dark rear space to both the pocket garden and the kitchen/ reception room above. Generating a two storey addition on the rear of a mid-terrace property is always challenging but the resultant addition was crafted to make the most of the available light and the combination of Crittall style glazing and exposed brick, together with a single spine bespoke staircase, bring the spaces together elegantly.
