Today, we are crossing the Atlantic for our Before and After segment to view a spectacular home in the extraordinary city of Valencia, Spain. We will be looking at a house that is comprised of wide open spaces that stand out for their detail and come complete with functional furniture that was once bleak and unattractive. We can thank the professionals at acertus, who specialise in restoration and renovation, for this project.

Wow… we've seen some dark rooms on our Before and After tours before, but nothing quite matches up to this one. You'd think that the big fluorescent light would adequately illuminate the space, yet all it does here is add a scary half-lit vibe. That, in addition to the dark cabinetry and countertop, was just the inspiration these professionals needed to change everything around.
As we enter this new space, the first thing we notice is how the rooms communicate with each other. The kitchen and dining room share the ground floor, which also opens onto a garden through a large window. And the functionality of this space is really something to brag about. This cute little breakfast bar also serves as a dividing element between kitchen and living area. Now that's innovation!
These ornately patterned stairs may have been fashionable at one point, but it's certainly a bit too much for the new look of the home. The goal with the renovation was to create a functional and beautiful minimalist home, so let's see how these stairs fall in line with this design scheme…
After the renovation, the staircase has transformed into a sleek and neat passageway with pristine white walls and plain, chic steps. The wooden steps add appropriate contrast to the white, and we just love the addition of the vase of flowers at the turn. It's just enough of an aesthetic accent to liven things up while not getting in the way of foot traffic.

We don't have to say much here. This bathroom is just as dark and dusty as the kitchen we saw earlier. With hardly any space to move and get ready in the morning, this room was in desperate need of some help. So let's see how it's changed!
This space has an entirely new vibe now, thanks to those bright and lively purple mosaic tiles! This ambience is cosy, and the functionality has been improved ten fold. The mirrored cabinets and spacious drawers under the sinks help store all kinds of toiletries, cleaning supplies, and even dirty laundry. That's quite a step up from what these residents had before.
We think we've saved the best upgrade for last. If you thought the other transformations were impressive, just wait until you see the After
photo for this pool. Normally, pools invite us for a refreshing swim, but not this pool. One look at this murky and dirty water will have you running in the other direction. Luckily the professionals at acertus knew exactly how to fix this.
We told you this was an incredible change! The pool has been compltely cleaned and calls to us with its cool, clear water. To replace the out-of-control lawn, a lush green carpet of artificial grass has been laid, and potted plants take the place of those unkempt bushes. This new, stunning pool area leaves us longing for summer in the worst way!
