Prestige Architects are back with a fantastic renovation in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge area. This standout property is a double fronted, end of terrace house with the luxury of having five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The lower ground floor was also extended creating additional accommodation.

Founded in 2009, Marco Braghiroli’s architectural practice has completed a number of high-quality projects in and out of the UK. Their services cover everything from initial concept to completion with the majority of their clients returning to them for future properties. This home is just another addition to their exceptional portfolio.

Cul-de-sac calm in a conservation area

With its prime location in a conservation area, the home’s exterior has been kept intact while the interior has taken on a brilliant transformation. Large south facing windows let in huge amounts of light into the house, delivering a warm, sunny feel to the residents even on London’s rainiest days.

Step inside

The interior of the house, in particular the entrance hall, is clearly decorated with bright beige to really complement the space of the home. The large window to the front of the property also prevents the internal walls from blocking light and making the space feel restricted.

Perfect balance in the kitchen

The light theme continues here in the kitchen, with elegant white cabinets contrasted by their black handles. Using matching wood-panel flooring and wooden tabletops has given this kitchen a lovely, rustic feel while fully equipped with modern appliances. To top it all off a farmhouse sink has been fitted for that timeless charm.

In the living room, the floor has been decorated with a warmer colour and an original Victorian fireplace that adds real character to the room. Twin alcoves adorned with traditional wall plaster moulding keep up this classic style and combined with that beautiful chandelier create the makings of a timeless, classic room.

Other areas, such as the bathroom, have combined been put together with bespoke joinery and excellent tiling. The finishings used are also of the highest quality for an inviting and intimate bathroom experience.

Part of keeping the original charm of this gorgeous building meant aiming for a traditional design and that has been carried out with excellent precision by Prestige Architects. While many might have removed all trace of the building’s identity, completely modernising the interior, these experienced designers have taken into account both the client’s needs and the historical context of the building.
