CKW Lifestyle Associates doesn’t waste time when it comes to high-class design results. Established back in 1996 as Craig Whitehead Interiors, CKW Lifestyle (based in Johannesburg) has been transforming a multitude of spaces and remains one of South Africans’ prime choices for luxurious interiors, from living rooms and kitchens to bedrooms and entire houses.

Today we take a look at some equally dazzling results from projects devoted to a much younger audience: bedrooms for boys and girls, from primary school kids to teens needing their own private spaces to chill and socialise.

Let’s see how each space differs in design and décor, plus colour palette, but remains consistent with top-notch style that has become synonymous with CKW Lifestyle.

1. Teenage boy’s room

Blue can only be used so many times; thus, it's up to creativity to bring other 'masculine' touches into a room that's meant for a growing boy (and we are certainly not suggesting that blue is exclusive to boys, we're just going by tradition!).

So, enjoy that rough texture brought on by the exposed brick wall! And the Scandinavian / Industrial-style furnishings. Plus the sharp edges of the motif in the floor rug. And for some contrast? A cherry-red chair, of course.

2. Colour scheme for a little girl’s room

Rose, Punch, Rouge, Blush… Don't mind us, we're just naming some of our favourite pink shades that have proven to be so popular for rooms of a feminine quality, including a girl's bedroom. Of course the beauty of pattern is that it adds so much character to a surface, especially when used with colour. Thus, bring forth the hearts and floral-inspired patterns for this little princess' sleeping space.

3. Finished bedroom for a young girl

Those hearts filled with floral-inspired motif got splashes onto the focal wall behind the bed – the perfect choice, as putting it on all the walls of the room would have been way too much pattern.

And speaking of perfection, how is this bed design for a more unique version of bunk beds? Or is that top part meant for storage?

What are your thoughts?

4. Funky wallpaper and decals

Obviously wallpaper is not the only way of sprucing up a wall, as there's also paint and decals! And speaking of the latter, don't you just love the funky and fun vibe introduced into this room via the wall designs? Charcoal-black for the majority of the walls (a neutral tone, meaning it goes with any added-on colour) that makes the reds, yellows, and blues of the decals become much more prominent.

5. A games room and study area (option 1)

As far as practicality goes, this games room / study area gets our vote of approval! Not only does it present a comfy seating area right in front of the TV, or a sturdy table for studying or socialising, but also an eye-catching way of storing / displaying a range of toys, books, trophies, etc.

That's the beauty of designers thinking outside the box: they've reminded us that floating shelves can be enjoyed in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles.

7. A games room and study area (option 2)

Same room, same function, same colour scheme, yet something is different. It's the wall shelving, becoming so much more eye-catching in this version and turning the wall art tree into a 3D design (without taking anything away from the room’s dedication to storage).

8. A games room and study area (option 2)

Don't overlook the other major difference in this space's alternative design: the seating area which has become much more laid-back via foot stools / ottomans (doing a great job at enhancing the room's green palette while complementing the circular shapes of the wall shelving) and hanging chairs.
